Ursodeoxycholic Acid (ACTIBILE) is a non-toxic hydrophilic bile acid that exhibits hepatoprotection against hydrophobic bile acids. UDCA (ACTIBILE) is currently used in clinical practice worldwide for cholestatic liver diseases like primary biliary cirrhosis. Primary sclerosing cholangitis and intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy. Besides classic cholestatic diseases, UDCA also improves liver biochemistry in alcoholic liver diseases, non alcoholic steatohepatitis and in chronic viral hepatitis.

The drug is US FDA approved for Gall Stone dissolutions and chronic cholestatic diseases.
