Anxiety is an emotional state characterised by a feeling of apprehension, fear accompanied by physical symptoms like tachycardia, increased rate of respiration sweating & tremor. When these symptoms are exaggerated it may be disabling. Benzodiazepines are widely accepted anxiolytic agents.
